Looks like someone somehow hit the front of the Miata. Sigh. Just cosmetic but... Really? Peeled plastic off like scraping a knife on butter. Annoying. I have comprehensive with a $250 but I dunno if this is worth it. Might just hit it with bumper filler and repaint the stupid thing.

I don’t think it’s worth it. Wait for a bigger boob and lump it all together on a bigger claim?

might be worth calling the nearby scrappies to see if they have one lying around in the same colour

used ones seem to be going for $100-150 over here (but as im not in the states im not sure if pricing is anything like that for you)

still.. might get lucky

Can that be done? My rear bumper has a crack and a bunch of spiderwebbing where my fiancee rear ended it with my motorcycle... Not sure how I would explain then both.

Japanese stuff is rare in local scrap yards. Miatas are very few and far in-between and this Silverstone Metallic was only on 1500 cars. Gonna need paintwork if I ever decide to fix this and my cracked rear bumper.

Well I don’t want to advocate for outright fraud. I just mean that if your car is involved in another scrape-and-run of more substantial damage that front bumper, just lump those two on one claim, since you have to pay for it anyway...

Some of that might respond well to a good polish with an aggressive scratch removal polish. That would lead to a much smaller area that has to be dealt with. Touch up paint or those paint matched vinyl stickers that this Drive Clean guy dealt with the other day might get rid of the rest, or at least somewhere where you can live with it. It’s not a lease where they will rape you for every little imperfection come trade in time.

I managed to polish this mishap to something I could live with with an old sock and some scratch removal polish within ten minutes.

Nah it gouged and took a chunk of plastic off. It’s fairly impressive.
